Time for Thanksgiving

September 24 2016

It feels like just a few weeks have gone by since the Thanksgiving of last year. So much has happened in that time and it has been a very full year. We were just starting the process of getting our NYS issued  raw milk permit at the time. Of course, there are more things to be thankful for then will fit in a blog post. But here are a few:

The warm winter of 2015/16 allowed us to work on the milkhouse and get it up to meeting the milk inspectors requirements. We literally had some 60 degree days in December that allowed us to get some concrete poured. We officially received our NYS Raw Milk Permit by the end of March

It was a very dry year and yet we had plenty of water for us, the animals, and the pastures. We must be over some major water source cause even when other farms dry out and turn brown our pastures remain green and growing.

Our herd of cows has grown from 3 cows, 18 months ago, to 6 milk cows, and 6 heifers (future milkers in training). It really is a pretty little herd of milk cows.

We are thankful for the Lord's provision and helping us to meet the challenges that have come along as we grow our farm business.

We are very thankful for all of our loyal customers who value our products, both for the nutrition and the impact our farming methods have on the environment.  It’s been a lot of fun to get to know many of you who have just found us this year, and its been a pleasure to see those of you who have been with us for almost 10 years now. Without you guys our vision of restoring the land to a fertile, healthy, productive farm, would not be possible. Happy Thanksgiving from us and all the farm animals! (OK so maybe the turkeys aren’t too thrilled today...)
